How you can help
As a not-for-profit organization, Pariyatti relies on the vibrant participation of our supporters to continue our service programs. Volunteers are welcome to share in a variety of projects, including simply sharing your good ideas with us. If you want to participate in any of the opportunities listed below, or in ways other than these, please email our volunteer coordinator at volunteer (at) pariyatti.org.
This is our current list of needs. As you can see, many of these can be done right from your own home.
Fundraising: Done from anywhere, be an ambassador for Pariyatti’s mission. Talk with others who appreciate our services and the works we make available. Connect them with information about and ways they can contribute.
Grant Researcher: Done from your own home or office, identify appropriate organizational donors who are a good fit for Pariyatti funding. Projects include funding new titles.
Book Reviewer: Done from anywhere, write reviews of Pariyatti titles for our web site; post your reviews of our titles at Amazon.com and other online bookstores.
Sales & Marketing: Done from anywhere. Deliver our catalog to someone you know who might appreciate it, such as a librarian or professor. Invite someone to visit Pariyatti.org to learn about our programs and services; purchase a gift card or become a member; or buy a book at Pariyatti.org.
Publicity: Done from anywhere. Do you know someone in the media who might review a book or video? You can help us get publicity.
Audio Production Volunteer: Get involved with some of the many pending audio and video media development projects. This work might involve conversion of analog to digital media formats, audio and video editing, and podcast creation -- to name just a few of the project areas.
Inventory Volunteer: From our warehouse located in Onalaska, WA, help during our annual counting of books in the store and warehouse. No experience needed.
Conference Assistant: Locations vary. Help spread the word about Pariyatti at book fairs and educational conferences. Set up and take down Pariyatti’s exhibit. Meet attendees and bring more awareness about Pariyatti's titles to the book trade.
Marketing Assistant: In Onalaska, WA headquarters, learn about marketing for a not-for-profit organization while providing a valuable service to Pariyatti and our readers. Help with mailings, proofreading, and data entry. A great (unpaid) internship opportunity!
Website: Know of ways we can improve our website? Know how to help us become more visible on the Internet? We always welcome technical advice and programming skills. Experience and interview required.
Building Improvement: From mowing the lawn to fixing a dripping faucet, there are many small handyman jobs that need an attentive friend at Pariyatti’s Onalaska, WA location. If you are interested in contributing, contact us! Projects will vary according to season, materials, and need.
